Playing Tuesday Night

10:00 to 1:00

Georgia-born and Atlanta-bred, Skye Paige has the special ability to understand both the dusty back roads of country music and the neon glow of big-city rock. It’s a perspective that has lent itself to both her music and her burlesque shows. Now living in Charleston, SC, Paige injects her blues and country roots with a sultry shot of rock ‘n’ roll and ’50s pin-up fashion. It’s not all about image with Paige, however, as the singer/songwriter and lead slide guitarist took home first place at the House of Blues’ “Battle of the Blues” 2009. Paige was also nominated as “Best Rock Female” by the Carolina Music Awards 2010. Her single “Just Wanna Ride” was voted “Best of Charleston City Paper” 2011. Skye Paige has been gaining popularity thoughout the East Coast by playing numerous festivals, such as, Heavy Rebel Weekender, Cash Bash, Elvis Fest. She has played countless blues festivals and numerous biker ralleys for Harley Davidson and ABATE. Skye Paige has played and recorded with some of the South East’s finest talent, such as, Dash Rip Rock, The Defilers, and Atlanta blues legend, Mudcat. Skye Paige just isn’t another female fronting a male driven band. She is ringmaster, lead guitarist and principle songwriter of the group. Her style is ranchy, rawkin, outlaw country blues, and tears up a slide guitar! Skye Paige also known for her performances with Bizarro Burlesque Productions, voted “Best Stage Show 2009,” by Charleston City Paper. Skye Paige is becoming known as one of the best burlesque singers in the South! She has won Pin Up Competitions including 1st place in the “Undead Girl Pin Up 2010″ and 3rd Place in Hellbounders Memorial Day show. Whether she is wisping you away to Hawaii with the sounds of her ukulele or luring you back to her coffin for a midnight snack, she will steal your heart away forever more. Tune in on the TV and you may catch Skye Paige guest hosting an episode of Carolina Bands Live! A show highlighting some of the best musical talent in the Carolina’s. You can find Skye Paige on Facebook, and become a fan of Skye Paige and the Original Recipe on Facebook too, to keep up to date on all things happening with the Original Recipe and Bizarro Burlesque Productions!!

Playing Friday Night

February 17th 10:00 to 1:00

With his genuine combination of American soul and upbeat rock & roll, Matt MacKelcan has emerged as one of the most prominent indie front men out of the southeastern U.S. He first broke into the music scene in the Orlando Florida area while earning a degree in vocals, composition and guitar at Rollins College before moving on to Charleston along the South Carolina coast—where his single “Drive” is now featured on regular radio rotation at 105.5 The Bridge. Matt’s big voice and authentic songwriting have become trademarks, along with his personable nature and extra dose of humor, have become trademarks.

As his popularity spreads far beyond his roots, Matt’s sophomore CD No Turning Back (produced by 2-time Dove Award nominee Randall Shreve) continues to meet embracing live audiences across the country—from Boston to Austin, from Park City to New York City. He’s no stranger to crowds of thousands either, headlining with his band at college football’s famed Capital One Citrus Bowl pregame event.

While building his reputation as one of the hardest working musicians around, Matt received recognition in his early days by Singer Songwriter of America as the 2005 “Male Vocalist of the Year”. In the time since, ample touring has given him the opportunity to share the stage with some of his own professional inspirations including Matt Nathanson, Edwin McCain, Gavin DeGraw, Martin Sexton, Brett Dennen, Jon McLaughlin, Will Hoge, Howie Day, Rusted Root, Third Eye Blind and Virginia Coalition.

With recent career highlights at venues like Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest Film Festival as well as House of Blues and Hard Rock Live performances, Matt now plays a regular schedule of urban and collegiate music venues around the east coast and beyond. With new songs and rising popularity, he’s enjoyed successful appearances at the renowned South by Southwest Music Festival and recently made his west

NEW BREW ON CAMPUS!!!!!!!! NOBLE ROT Hmmm. We wonder if anyone...

NEW BREW ON CAMPUS!!!!!!!!

NOBLE ROT

Hmmm. We wonder if anyone will buy a beer with the word “rot” in the
name?

This saison-esque science project gets complexity and fermentable sugars from
two unique wine grapes sourced with our friends at Alexandria Nicole Cellars in
Prosser, Wash.

The first addition is unfermented juice, known as must, from viognier grapes
that have been infected with a benevolent fungus called botrytis. This noble rot
reduces the water content in the grapes while magnifying their sweetness and
complexity. The second is pinot gris must intensified by a process called
dropping fruit, where large clusters of grapes are clipped to amplify the
quality of those left behind.

“This is the absolute closest to equal meshing of the wine world and the beer
world thats ever been done commercially,” says Dogfish’s Sam Calagione.

Noble Rot is brewed with pils and wheat malts and fermented with a distinct
Belgian yeast strain. It has a spicy white wine body and a dry, tart finish.

Noble Rot first went on tap at our brewpub in February of 2011 and went into
full 750ml bottle production in January 2012
